The above quotation is the core of what this group is about, meeting people and reading books to succeed. If you want to succeed and excel in all areas of your life this group is for you. "Cleveland Old School Roleplaying" is my attempt to bring together and connect with enthusiasts of earlier editions of Dungeons and Dragons (i.e. Advanced Dungeons and Dragons and AD&D 2nd Edition). I'm not sure how feasible this is, but I imagine a major goal of the group to be the establishment of a regular OSR campaign in a traditional Dungeons and Dragons setting, like Greyhawk or the Forgotten Realms. Aside from playing Dungeons and Dragons, a more basic goal of the group might be to simply …

Just like the creative minds of Percy and Mary Shelley, the Pittsburgh writers group is a "Meetup" where multiple minds will hold each other accountable to writing the stories that have played in our heads every night before bed. Rather than dwelling on the stories we are going to writer, we'll actually put our stories into action with weekly or biweekly assignments that we can share with each other. Critical feedback is also important as we sharpen the stories we plan to impart upon the world. …

If you write, chances are someone wants to read it. If they'd want to read it, let's make sure that when they do read it, they want to read more! That means you're going to have to accept some basic realities, the first of which is: not all writers get paid for their work. Personally, I think that's a shame. If you're a writer, I want you to get paid! I want you to develop a reader-base so you can get your imagined realities out there for other people to enjoy! So, what this group will be …
Extra! Extra! It's about time to establish a writer's meet-up to serve Cleveland's Eastern burbs and the writers of Lake, Geauga, and Ashtabula counties. All writing, editing, publishing, and e-publishing topics will be discussed. Come join the fun!
This is a group for all those, who like to write! All those, who would like to publish... something. All those, who have had a work hibernating in a closet, under a bed or in a drawer for months... years. Bring it out! Let's hear it! We'll listen and tell you what we hear as you awaken it from its slumber. Curious how it will be received? You'll never know until you brave the 'group listen'. It's fun! It's revealing! It's what you've been waiting for.... do it.

We'll feature, sponsor, co-sponsor and present writing retreats that offer getaway options closer to home, here in Ohio. The current weather …

We meet in a lovely space provided by Pittsburgh Filmmakers, in North Oakland. No dues or admission fees; always free and casual.

This group will focus on banned and/or challenged books. I would like to meet at the Louisville Public Library but am willing to entertain ideas for other venues. I would also like to see when people would like to hold the meetings but am currently leaning towards Monday evenings. We will start with Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll. Then we will vote for the next book from the top 100 on this Goodreads list http://www.goodreads.com/list/show/
