This is a group where people can meet others, network, bounce ideas off each other, build relationships, make contacts, get opinions, encourage, motivate, and grow in a po …

"Cleveland Old School Roleplaying" is my attempt to bring together and connect with enthusiasts of earlier editions of Dungeons and Dragons (i.e. Advanced Dungeons and Dragons and AD&D 2nd Edition). I'm not sure how feasible this is, but I imagine a major goal of the group to be the establishment of a regular OSR campaign in a traditional Dungeons and Dragons setting, like Greyhawk or the Forgotten Realms. Aside from playing Dungeons and Dragons, a more basic goal of the group might be to simply …

As writers, we sometimes need to get away from the everyday grind that monopolizes our time, energy and creativity. It helps if we can escape the "rat race" and rediscover the craft and pleasure of our writing in a relaxed and enjoyable setting. The Ohio Writers Retreats membership group was organized in 2009, to help us escape for a weekend or just a day. We'll feature, sponsor, co-sponsor and present writing retreats that offer getaway options closer to home, here in Ohio. The current weather …

If you write, chances are someone wants to read it. If they'd want to read it, let's make sure that when they do read it, they want to read more! That means you're going to have to accept some basic realities, the first of which is: not all writers get paid for their work. Personally, I think that's a shame. If you're a writer, I want you to get paid! I want you to develop a reader-base so you can get your imagined realities out there for other people to enjoy! So, what this group will be …
Knowledgeable and fun adults discussing contemporary literature several times a month in the Cleveland area. Expect provocative, at times, controversial reading. Enjoy fun conversation, food, alcoholic and NA drinks. No sticklers please... We try and alternate between fiction and non-fiction and are very open to book suggestions. Come share your love of reading and conversation! (And no penalties for not finishing the book on time either.)

We'll listen and tell you what we hear as you awaken it from its slumber. Curious how it will be received? You'll never know until you brave the 'group listen'. It's fun! It's revealing! It's what you've been waiting for.... do it.
Feeling like you lack the time or the inspiration to get started or finish your writing, whether it is a book, poem or series of short stories? Then this is the group for you. I find that it is hard with work and our busy schedules to find the time or the discipline (in my case) to finish pieces I have nearing completion or to begin new projects. I have been writing since I can remember and would like to turn those glowing embers into a fierce blaze again. We will generally meet the 2nd Tuesda …

Life is too short... Life is too short to read boring books or to eat boring food at boring places or to do boring things! This is not the place for fuddy-duddies. This is the place for the calmly audacious. Dullsville has no place on our maps and our only four-letter word is YAWN. Here is where you are if you like your inner monologue at its' maximum potential. Here is where "these go to eleven". We welcome you to join us and help us to turn things all the way up!
