Meet fellow Sci-fi/Fantasy Fans near you! Come to a local Sci-fi/Fantasy Meetup to have fun talking science fiction and fantasy in literature, media, gaming and art.
This group is about writing and the craft of fiction. Anybody can put keyboard/pen in hand, B-I-C, and write, but to study the craft means to create a work of art. This group is about people who are serious about studying the craft--people who want to produce their best possible work. It's also about sharing information and helping each other learn, as well. Let's have fun, share information, and prepare to create, but bring your patience--it's expected. Haters need not apply. We're all in this …
Creativity, inspiration and imagination must come from within...but none of this will come across on the written page without craft. Whether you are writing your first short story, or working on a 150,000 word manuscript, you'll find yourself needing to have answers to your questions and interaction with other writers. These mini-workshops will keep you on track as you discover and realize your dream of becoming a writer of fine fiction. Subjects we'll be covering during these weekly meetups are …

Always wanted to write, but can't get started? Stuck midway through a project? Writers need time devoted to the doing, and this group aims to set aside and protect that time. Unlike other writing groups that mainly critique manuscripts or give prompts for writing at home, we focus on generating new writing during the meeting. During our gatherings in a quiet setting, we will write exercises and offer feedback without damaging writing or writers. Those with a piece in progress may choose either t …

We are a group that gets together every two weeks in the south Charlotte area to discuss great fiction/non-fiction books, socialize with locals and have great conversation. A group for all writers interested in publishing their work. Led by Wolf Hoelscher, owner of Pubmission.com and a former acquisitions editor, this group will talk about getting published in this new digital age, how to submit work, and where to find help for your writing. We can also workshop writing if members are interested in getting honest feedback on their writing. The overall goal, however is to offer support and camaraderie to fellow local writers. The plan is to meet about once a month. …
This is Katherine's original vision for this club: "Here's my vision of a great book club: a smallish and diverse group of intellectually active women who can commit to reading a book a month (more or less) and making time to get together to discuss. I see the books being a mix of fiction and non-fiction - from classics to bestsellers, including some serious works and the occasional fluff piece. We do one book-related meetup a month and will occasionally have a social-only meetup. All are welcom …
This book group is a lot of fun, very democratic and full of interesting women. We have read fiction and non-fiction. The selection typically ends up being a recent book although we are always open to suggestions! Please join us and be a part of the discussion!

If you enjoy Christian authors or reading books of inspiration, hope and religious relevance, then this book club is for you. In the true spirit of Christ, we welcome a diverse group of Christ-minded people of all cultures and ethnic affiliations. Both Fiction and Non-fiction books can be a part of our reading list. We'll spend some time chatting and a little time chewing. If you are interested in being part of a great group of people, let us know.
We read a variety of interesting books and have good conversations, enjoy great food, and get to know others. We meet on the fourth Monday of every month, choosing different restaurants in the area where we can relax and chat about good books. All members contribute suggestions for books and restaurants, so no one is left out!
This is more of a reader's club than a book club. Instead of reading the same book and discussing it, members talk about books they have read. You can also bring books to trade or lend. We hope to also have trips to hear favorite authors and attend events. Given that gore, romance, erotica, and adult topics may be discussed, we don't recommend bringing children.
This group is for anyone 18 and over in the Winston-Salem area who is interested in sci-fi, fantasy, or horror.

We are a group of Star Trek fans in western North Carolina who meet monthly to celebrate Star Trek, play card and board games, watch videos, discuss Star Trek science, and have fun! We are a chapter of STARFLEET, The International Star Trek Fan Association and have been in existence since 1982.
I don't know about you, but I have written an entire novel. And it is brilliant. The problem is, the entire thing still lives in my head. I have started, stopped, started stopped so many times it's driving me crazy. Also, I have little to no feedback and would love to talk and listen about plot, ideas, critiques and encouragement. This is the first group I've started so I have no rules or activities, just have fun and write. I would love to hear your ideas as much as tell you mine.

Each month we'll read and discuss a book (fiction and non) that introduces us to a different part of the world. We'll hopefully learn about literature, life, and adventure beyond Mecklenburg County. We'll also enjoy international snacks! Feel free to bring a tasty treat from the country we're learning about that month. Buy your book at Park Road Books and get a 15% discount, they'll have our books behind the counter.
