This is a group for writers. Writing can be a rather isolated experience, so I've set up this group to get people together to share tips and experiences. Representatives of new ways of writing and getting work out there (such as blogging and self-publishing) are welcome. Whether you are a novelist, journalist, non-fiction writer or blogger come along and meet up! Please note. The ethos of the group is collaborative. Please contribute fairly, rather than just trying to sell your own work. Members …

The Leeds writers group was set up to allow local writers to give and receive feedback on novels, short stories and poetry in a structured but relaxed environment. It's for complete beginners to experienced writers to share advice, tips and experience. We're also starting to run workshops and have socials for people to chat about their writing and poetry in a more informal way.

Our book discussion evening is always on the second Tuesday of the month, share views and gain new insights into our chosen book. This is a led discussion (but fairly informal). We discourage book snobbery and all views and opinions are respected. A list of our previous book choices can be found in the files …

Unlike most others, our book club offers an opportunity to discuss a recent read while enjoying food and wine. Of course you don't have to have lunch; you don't have to drink wine; in fact you don't even have to read the chosen book - it's just a starting point for stimulating conversation. So feel free to join us on the first Sunday of the month for laughter and tears, lively discussion and lots of new friends. N.B. The £5 requested when you RSVP is taken off the restaurant bill at the meeting. …

Leeds needs a book group! Having just moved to the area I can see there is a dirth of groups for book and literature lovers. This must change! I don't read anywhere near enough but a group like this one will get me in the habit once more. I can't find a group like it, so I'm creating one myself. Once-a-month meets, discussions on the wonderful world of literature, and the setting of a book to read after each meet. Come on, come all, and we could make this an awesome group.

YTTRP aims to bring Roleplayers from all over Yorkshire (and beyond) together to play a variety of Table-Top games, be it Board Games, Pen & Paper RPG's or anything else which sounds like a good idea! Sister-group to Strathclyde Table-Top Roleplayers (http://www.meetup.com/table-top/) and under the Roleplayers United (https://www.roleplayers.eu) umbrella, of which STTRP were a founding member, Yorkshire Table-Top Roleplayers hope to achieve a similar level of success.
I have initiated this meet up, as I notice that some people in London have started a similar group, and I like the sound of it! The purpose will be for people who write poems, or short stories, to come along to an Oxford restaurant, and share there outpourings, with a view to entertain, and also be entertained by fellow diners. You may just have a funny story to share, fictional or true with the rest of the group. If you just want to come along and hopefully be entertained, again that is absolut …
